What is the European Commission Safety Gate?
The European Commission (EC) Safety Gate is a weekly report alerting consumers of non-food dangerous products. These alerts contain detected as dangerous, a description of the risk and the measures taken by the economic operator or ordered by the authority. Every alert is followed-up by the other authorities, which take their own measures if they find the same product in their own national markets.
Why is this important for consumers?
The European Commission (EC) Safety Gate is important for consumers to pay attention to because it protects both them, and others from potentially harmful and dangerous products, and sometimes offers guidance on adequate handling and/or disposal or return of the same.
