Does Wish charge customs, taxes, VAT, or any other extra fees?

Wish.com is a marketplace for merchants to sell their products on Wish. In addition, Wish marketplace supports merchants to calculate indirect tax on their sales. Merchants may have different indirect tax collection obligations depending on the policies and operations of their business. As a result, it is possible that some items in your order may be subject to tax, while others may not be. 

Wish calculates, collects, and remits indirect tax on sales made by merchants shipped to customers located in the US states and certain foreign countries that have enacted Marketplace Facilitator, Marketplace Fairness, or similar laws. These laws shift collection responsibility from the merchant to the marketplace facilitating the merchant's sale. For more information, please visit our Tax policy.

How does Wish calculate sales tax?

Wish only charges sales tax as indicated on our Tax Policy here. Sales tax is dictated by your local and/or regional regulations and is not affiliated with Wish. Please keep in mind that all charges are displayed in your shopping cart before placing an order.

Will I be charged international bank fees when ordering?

While we're able to collect payments in most global currencies, it's possible your local currency isn't currently supported. If this is the case, your bank will need to process your purchase as an international payment, which may result in currency conversion fees.

We recommend contacting your bank to fully understand any additional fees or charges regarding foreign transactions.

What should I do if I'm charged a customs fee to pick up my package?

Wish only collects payment for the cost of the item plus shipping in most countries. As a result, your payment method will only be charged the order total displayed in your shopping cart at checkout.

Please read on to learn more about additional non-Wish fees that you may be charged upon delivery or pickup. These fees and their related policies are neither regulated nor affiliated with Wish. As such, Wish is not responsible for, nor will compensate you for these fees.   

Customs: You may be charged customs fees based on your local regulations. Additionally, you may be fined for purchasing products that violate your local regulations. We recommend contacting your local customs office if you have any doubts or questions about whether or not your item will have a fee and/or be permitted into your country.

VAT: In most regions, Wish doesn’t charge for Value-Added Tax and cannot cover any charges that your country may add. Wish adjusts our tax policy procedures depending on the rules and regulations of each locale.
